You should have a crush on your city. That's how you know you're home. People wear t-shirts proclaiming their love for NY, and those are my sentiments for where I live. Food is no exception to that. Today I'm going to share with you my favorite restaurants in my favorite city: Bellevue, WA.
El Gaucho - Starting off with my favorite! El Gaucho is an upscale steak house with many choices. The ambience is thriving. There are no uppity, standoffish vibes. It's quite loud and there is a fantastic Happy Hour menu. Whether you're getting a burger and fries or filet mignon, you are treated very well (and eating great stuff!). The busy atmosphere paired with piano playing gives this place a romantic vibe. If you love steak, this will definitely be the place for you. Complimentary fruit & nuts find you after your meal. The staff is very caring, whether they are checking on you in passing or preparing a table side Cesar or Bananas Foster.
John Howie Steak Restaurant - If uppity steak houses are more your style, I highly recommend John Howie. To me, this place gives off a bit more of an upscale vibe which is also fun. The meats are showcased in a case right up front. Imported salts at the table bring the already perfect meats to a new high. My favorite is the wagyu, and even thinking about it is making my mouth water! Somehow, I've been able to save room (or make room) for the dessert. This was a smart decision because their cheesecake is my favorite.
Lot No 3 - You know when you've found perfectly cooked potatoes and entered new ground? That's what you have here. Lot No 3 is a bar scene with an industrial vibe. Or, my go to breakfast spot. No matter what your order, I highly HIGHLY recommend the potatoes on the side. Eggs Benedict is my breakfast of choice but I'll still order a side of candied bacon when I'm feeling it. With the immaculate mix of sweet & savory, I have yet to stray from this order. But still, I consider this one of my favorite restaurants. If you're having one of those mornings, the Bloody Mary with bacon is worth trying. Also, the coffee has a beautiful, roasted taste so there is a drink for every kind of breakfast eating patron.
Bellden Cafe - If you enjoy breakfast ALMOST too pretty to eat, then take a visit to Bellden cafe. Their menu consists of beautiful toasts, acai bowls, pastries & more. Salty salmon pairs perfectly with a hazelnut latte or any drink of choice. There is a farmstyle charm to the decor. This is a place I like to sit back to enjoy breakfast. Why are we always so fast paced in the mornings? Staff here is always very friendly. I quite enjoy spending my mornings here. The full stomach and good mood make for a great rest of the day.
Lincoln Food Hall - Lincoln Square South is an experience in its own. Casual casual casual. If you're looking for the best food court, here it is. You're welcome. Whether you're craving the freshest poke bowl of your life or flavorful Mexican street corn from a taco truck, it's here. If all food courts were like this, we'd be in a better place. But for now, I'll continue just to enjoy this one. If it's a burger you crave, or avocado toast, be sure to try at least two places. You will be satisfied and make a plan to come again.
